Magazines & Grips
Carbon fiber grip panel.
Wilson/Rogers magazines are the best you can get...they cost a little more,
but are well worth it.
Micarta is a synthetic compound developed by Westinghouse for use as an electrical
insulator. It is a hard, dense material that takes checkering with difficulty and
comes in black, white, and a laminated wood texture. Its strength and durability
make it an ideal material for handgun grips. For you handloaders out there, Micarta
grips are an added bit of insurance...they have been proof tested with double
charged .38 Super, .45 ACP, 9x21, and 9x23 cases. Even with complete case failure,
the grips (and the shooter's hands) were completely intact. Micarta is impervious
to oils, solvents, cleaners, and moderate levels of heat. The micarta grips I use
are the same thickness as standard Colt grips.
I'm now also using carbon fiber grips. They are stronger and more durable than micarta
and I think they look better.
Please give me a call and we can discuss grip and magazine options and pricing.
